We make no warranty of any kind, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose, in connection with the collaborative online document editing services provided to you under this agreement.

• pad.leuphana.de is administered by Leuphana University Media and Information Centre ("we")
• Public access to the platform is provided as a public service on a volunteer basis

Usage

• We take precautions to ensure the uptime of the service and perform regular backups to restore the service in case of a fault. However we cannot guarantee the availability of user data.
• Documents hosted on pad.leuphana.de are only as private as the channels you use to share or distribute them. We provide a secure way to collaborate between CryptPad contacts. We are not liable for any links sent through insecure channels and/or to unintended recipients.
• Users under the age of 13 may only use CryptPad with the knowledge and consent of their legal guardian.

Abuse

• The following are not welcome on pad.leuphana.de
  • material that breaches someone else's rights, for example:
    • disclosure of personal information, "doxing"
    • harassment
    • threats
    • libel
  • materials associated with physical or sexual abuse
  • disinformation or misinformation
  • hate speech (especially as defined in Germany)
  • copyrighted content
  • materials used to promote frauds, scams, etc.
• Anyone who comes across content that they consider in breach of these terms is encouraged to report it through an encrypted support ticket or any other means of contact.
• As administrators of the instance, we reserve the right to remove any content from the platform at our discretion.
• We reserve the right to deactivate accounts and/or teams that appear to be affiliated with abusive behaviour.
• Attempts to circumvent the platform's restrictions on data usage through the creation of multiple accounts will be treated as abuse. We may remove content and deactivate accounts which appear to be acting maliciously.

How we interact with law enforcement

• pad.leuphana.de is hosted in Germany by Leuphana University Media and Information Centre and is subject to german law. We may be approached by members of law enforcement requesting information about users of the service.
• Under normal circumstances we will only cooperate to the minimum extent which is required by a warrant or other legal ruling. Under these conditions we may be obliged to share the limited data that is available on our servers.
• In extreme cases where clear harm is being done by users of the platform (e.g. terrorism, human trafficking, hate crimes) we may choose to cooperate with law enforcement more proactively at our discretion.
